Forwarding Tasks in the Work Queue

Assignees can forward tasks.

To forward a task, complete the following steps:

  1. Click My Dashboard from the Main Menu on the AuthorSpace main screen.
  2. Click Work Queue from the My Dashboard pane.
  3. Click Delegate All Tasks. The Task List screen appears.
  4. In the Forward To area in the bottom of the screen, click To to open the Select E-mail Screen where you can search for the delegate you wish to forward tasks to. You can only search for AuthorSpace users; you cannot include reviewers, teams, or distribution lists in your search.
  5. Select the user from the list and then click OK to close the Select E-mail screen. The name you selected appears in the To field at the bottom of the Forward Task area.
  6. Click Confirm.

All tasks are forwarded to the selected delegate. The delegate is notified via e-mail that the assignee’s tasks have been forwarded to him/her.

New tasks assigned to the assignee will continue to be forwarded to the delegate until the Forward Tasks feature is turned off by the assignee. See Disabling Task Forwarding in the Work Queue.

Forwarded tasks are displayed in the Work Queues of the requester, assignee, and the delegate. The Work Queue screen displays notification that Task Forwarding is turned on.
