Linking Several Vocabulary Terms at a Time

To link vocabulary terms to catalog terms, complete the following steps:

1. From the Vocabulary Manager Home screen, click any hyperlinked local vocabulary to go to the Vocabulary Details screen for the selected vocabulary.
2. Click the Link Catalog Terms link on the Vocabulary Details screen to open the Link Catalog Terms screen.

   The top part of the screen enables you to search for Zynx, Custom, or Zynx + Custom terms.

3. Populate any of the following fields by selecting the appropriate values from these drop-down lists: Catalog, Content, Category, Type, Term Type, or Status.
4. Type the term in the Term Name field. Use of wildcard characters is not supported. To perform a search, you must either select a Term Type or type at least 2 characters.
5. Click the Search button.

   The system returns catalog terms using the criteria that you specify.

   The results list shows the term, PIVOT ID, primary term type, catalog, linked term, Term ID, and status. By default, 50 terms appear per page. Use vertical scroll bars to view all terms if they are not visible on the list. Use the page links below the results list to display additional results.

6. In the Vocabulary Term(s) area, select the term type from the Type drop-down list.
7. Select the term’s status from the Status drop-down list.
8. Type any text or characters that are part of the term name in the Search box.
9. Select the Unlinked Only check box to retrieve terms that are not linked to Zynx terms. If this check box is not selected, you will retrieve terms that are both linked and unlinked.
10. Click the Search button.

    The results list shows the description, term ID, type, and status. Use the First Page, Previous Page, Next Page, and Last Page links to view the results. Use vertical scroll bars to view all terms if they are not visible on the list.

11. To link the vocabulary terms to the catalog term, click the vocabulary term, click the catalog term, and then click Link.
    • One vocabulary term can be linked to multiple catalog terms, so repeat this step if necessary.
    • One catalog term can be linked to one vocabulary term. If a catalog term is already linked to a vocabulary term, you will receive a message to this effect.

      To unlink an item, select both terms and click Unlink in the upper right side of the screen.
