Printing Plans of Care
You can print a plan of care
from either the Editor, Viewer, or content list.
- From an open plan of care
displayed in the Editor, click Print View
from the Commands Menu.
- From an open plan of care
displayed in the Viewer, click Print from
the Commands Menu.
- From the content list, select
the plan of care and click the Print
link to open the Print dialog box.
In the Print
dialog box, select a print format for a plan of care:
- Select one of
the following formats for saving and printing your file in either PDF,
RTF, or HTML:
- Apply
Print Template: When you select this option, the Select Template drop-down list appears, where
you select the specific print template to apply. The system applies the
selected print template settings and displays the content in an editable
window (HTML Editor). After you make the desired changes, you can save
it as a PDF for use by the clinician. For information on previewing a
plan of care with the template applied, see Previewing
Plans of Care with a Template Attached. The print templates
are environment-specific and are configured in the Environment Manager.

- Checklist:
Prints just the activity details that support the following Activities:
assessments, communication, patient education, treatment and procedures,
and evaluations. Used as an education checklist, patient teaching tool,
staff teaching tool, patient instructions, or to standardize care.
- Plan
of Care: Prints the plan of care with the following items:
Problems, Expected Outcomes, Activities (which includes assessments,
communication, diagnostics, medications, education, treatments and procedures,
and evaluation), Reminders, and may include activity details. Used as
a blueprint to direct patient care for the interdisciplinary team.
- Task
List: Prints a task list with categories or Sections (which
include assessments or diagnostics) and Activities or Tasks (which includes
pulmonary assessment or information about when to call the provider).
Used as a task list, care pathway, or to standardize care for the interdisciplinary
team.
- You can also choose the Standard XLS V.1, XLS format. This format
saves the plan of care in a spreadsheet that can be opened in Excel.
Any internal notes or tasks associated with an item or Section are also
saved to the spreadsheet.
- If you selected
Checklist, Plan of Care, or XLS in step 1, the Print
Details check box appears. Select this option if you wish
to include activity details in the format you selected.
- Click
the Go button.
You can save the file to print
at a later date, open and print it, or cancel the action.
If you have trouble printing
the plan of care in the format you selected, you may have to indicate
in your browser settings that Zynx.com is a trusted site. See the Adding
Zynx.com to Trusted Site List section in Optimal Settings
for Internet Explorer for information on how to add Zynx.com as a trusted
site.
